Actor. Enrique Diosdado was a Spanish screen and stage leading actor. Diosdado began his career as a journalist. In the early 30s, he entered in the stage company of Pierrá and Martí, and he later in 1935 became the first actor in Margarita Sirgu's stock company. Forced into exile during the Spanish Civil War, he settled in Argentina with his second wife, the prestigious actress Amelia de la Torre. By 1950, they returned to Spain, creating their own stage company. Receiving the 1954 Best Actor for the film "North Wind" at San Sebastian International Film Festival and the Barcelona Critics Award, he became a stage and screen actor in a career that spanned more than 50 years. For the 1961 film "At Five in the Afternoon," he received the Award of Honor at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival and the Award from the National Show Union. Diosdado's best performances on stage include "From a Very Good Family," "Golden Mermaid" "Barren" and "The Duchess of Benameji." On screen, he acted in "Blood Wedding" in 1938, "The Goblin Lady" in 1945, "Madame Bovary" in 1945, "Alexander the Great" in 1956 and " An Angel Passed Through Brooklyn" in 1957 . With his first wife, he had a daughter, Ana Diosdado, an actress and playwright. With his second wife, he had a son. Alverez Diosdado, who became an actor and director.
