On September 3, 1949 John married the former Alice Smaglick at Precious Blood Church in Stephenson, MI.
John worked for the Menominee County Road Commission for 36 years, retiring in 1990 as foreman.
Locally, John was known as the man who could fix anything! He loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four wheeling and playing cards, but the thing he cherished most was the time he spent with his grandsons. John was a lifetime member of Precious Blood Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Alice of Stephenson, MI;
2 daughters: Gloria Cappaert and Barbara (Jeremiah Foos) Cappaert both of Stephenson, MI;
2 grandsons: James and Dean Imhoff;
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Private funeral services will be held. Burial will be in Stephenson Township Cemetery.
