Janet Brown Bennett Smith, formerly of Toledo, OH, passed away August 18, 2004 at Epworth Villa, OKC, OK. Janet was born to Tom and Catherine Brown on September 13, 1924 in Toledo, OH. Janet graduated from Vanderbilt University. In July, 1945 she married Robert A. Bennett of Toledo, OH. They had three children, Robert, Catherine and John. In September 1969, Janet joined David S. Smith of Toledo, OH in 10 years of joyful marriage before David died in 1979. Janet was a member of Trinity Church in Toledo. In 1999, Janet moved to Epworth Villa Retirement Community in OKC, OK to be near her children. She was an accomplished golfer and avid bridge player. Janet is preceded in death by her parents and a sister. Janet is survived by a brother and a sister; her children, Robert Bennett and wife Gayla of Tulsa, Catherine and husband Harold Wardlow of Edmond, John Bennett and wife Cecila, of Paradise Valley, AZ; 7 grandchildren, Jason Bennett, Patrick Wardlow, Robin Sutherland, Jeannette Figueriedo, Charisse Bennett, Logan Bennett and Kristen Bennett; 4 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 20, 2004 at Brill Chapel, Epworth Villa, 14901 N. Pennsylvania, OKC, OK 73134. In lieu of flowers, Janet requested memorial donations be made to The Benevolence Fund of Epworth Villa, 14901 N. Pennsylvania, OKC, OK 73134.
