Conveyancer, commisioner, issuer of marriage licenses, deputy coroner for Simcoe and Grey Counties, and Clerk of Nottawasaga Township from around 1850 until his death in 1897.

From the Collingwood Enterprise-Messenger Sept 23, 1897 -
Deceased had a large family. His wife died some years ago. The best known of the survivors are his sons, Angus of Singhampton, and Thomas of Dakota. Of the daughters, Mrs Greenaway and Mrs. Riddell live at Singhampton, and another daughter Lizzie lives on the homestead. One daughter Mrs. Stevenson lives in Toronto, and another Mrs. Crawford in Collingwood Township.
Aged about 80 years.
