Funeral of Mrs. Charley Bliss held on March 20
Mrs. Charles M Bliss of Woods County, Oklahoma south of Coldwater, died last Saturday, March 15 in Alva General Hospital after only a week's illness. Her death was unexpected. However she had not been in good health for a year or more.
Funeral services were held in the Coldwater Methodist Church Thursday afternoon, march 20, at 2:00 p.m. and were in charge of Rev William A Hawes, pastor of the Antioch Methodist Church, assisted by Rev Otis Bussart of the Coldwater Methodist Church.
A ladies quartet composed of Mrs. Oscar Blount, Mrs. Harry Lohrding, Mrs. Clifford Blount and Mrs. Le Roy Zielke, accompanied by Miss Karen Bean on the organ, sang " The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden"
The pallbearers were Ernest and Wesley Bennett, Charles and Marvin Davidson, Gwynn Gee and Zearl Harris. Interment in Crown Hill Cemetery, near Coldwater, Kansas.

Iva Henricks, daughter of John and Ellen Henricks, was born near Decatur, Illinois October 16, 1893 and departed this life March 15, 1958 at the age of 64 years and five months.
With her parents, brothers and sisters, she came to Oklahoma when she was nine years of age and spent the remainder of her life in Woods County Oklahoma.
Her parents, one brother and three sisters preceded her in death.
She was married to Charles M Bliss December 28, 1910. To this union were born nine children: Mildred Aldrich, who passed away October 25, 1946; Howard of Sharon Springs, Kansas; viola Davidson of Eureka, Kansas; Ethel Bennett of Coldwater, Kansas; Chester of the home; Harriett Markham of Ashland, Oregon; Irene Welty of Freedom, Oklahoma; Dorothy, who passed away on September 20, 1934, and Betty Hoffman of Coldwater, Kansas.
In addition to the husband and seven children, she is survived by 25 grandchildren, several great-grand children, one brother, Elmer Henricks, of Enid, Oklahoma; two sisters – Allie Gatz of Alva, Oklahoma and Nellie Brickman of Denver, Colorado, also a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She was kind and generous, giving and sharing her lovely handwork, flowers and garden with relatives, friends and acquaintances.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
