Joseph Kent Lilly, 95, of Stovall Ridge Road, Camp Creek, died peacefully Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Ridge Care Facility near Princeton. Born June 6, 1924, at Camp Creek, he was the son of the late Lonnie Earl Lilly and Sadie M. Barker Lilly. Kent was a graduate of Spanishburg High School and had attended Concord College in Athens. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II fighting against Adolph Hitler. Kent was a retired Forest Ranger for the State of West Virginia, a farmer, Christmas tree grower and a wealth of wisdom. He was a member of the Stovall Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Ann Meadows Lilly, a son, Martin Lilly, a daughter-in-law, Ronda Lilly, and seven siblings, Clifford, Hansford, Virgie, Helen, Mickie, Gertrude and Jean. Survivors include his son Kolan Vance Lilly, special friend, Tonya Bailey, daughter-in-law, Tammy Stevens; Four grandchildren, Kelley, Kaleb, Kolan and Anna; Host of nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the Jennings Family Cemetery on Stovall Ridge near Camp Creek. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com. The Lilly Family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
