Fort Worth, Texas -- Graveside services for Valiree Morgan, age 81, will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham. Mrs. Morgan passed away at her residence in Ft. Worth on December 13, 2009.
Valiree Morgan was born on November 19, 1928 in Minneola, TX. She was the 8th child of Ulyses S. Grant Belcher and Eva Bailey Belcher. She graduated from New Hope Elementary School at the tenth (10th) grade level on May 21, 1943. Valiree married Silas Preston Shaw in 1944. They soon had 3 daughters. The first Gloria Jean was born November 27, 1947. Then came Deborah on August 8, 1948 followed by Judy Carolyn on December 30, 1949.
On December 15, 1954, Valiree married Kenneth Ray Morgan in San Diego, CA. They were married until his passing on May 30, 1992.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, as well as, two sisters, Jewel B. Forrister and Bille Janice Elle and a brother, Ulyses S. Grant Belcher Jr. and his wife, Odessa.
