She was born November 23, 1918 in the Town of Cato, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Anton and Louise Lemberger Braun. she grew up in the Whitelaw area and attended St. Michael's grade school, Whitelaw. She was married to William McDaniel in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1982. She lived most of her life in Belle Glade, Fla., moving to Manitowoc in 1989. She owned and operated a produce market, first in Georgia and later in Florida. Janet was an avid reader.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Roman and Fern Braun, San Diego, Calif., two granddaughters and five great grandsons; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Al and Janet Braun, Whitelaw, Norbert and Gail Braun, Cato, Gordon and Alice Braun, Whitelaw; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Gertrude and Wilbert Hastreiter, Cato, Vivan Rychtarick, Lisle, Ill., Georgianna Manlick, rural Reedsville; one sister-in-law, Laura Braun, Manitowoc. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; three brothers, Elmer Braun, Herbert Braun and Anton Braun.
Relatives and friends may call at Jens Family Funeral home on Friday at the time of services at 11 am.
The family would like to thank Shady Lane Nursing Care Center for their excellent care and considerations given to Janet. Also to the patients who became her best friends and to her sisters and brothers that supported her while she lived in Manitowoc.
