Great-grandmother - Sara Carlos (Ortiz) Mireles. She was born April 9 1899 in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico and passed away August 13, 1977. I learned this almost to the day 30 years later. She is my mother's grandmother. She was married to Andres Ortiz when she had her three children, including my grandfather. I discovered she had lived in Berkeley from 1919-1921; and established permanent residence in San Ysidro, California with her new husband, Pedro Mireles. I believe they were working at the Manzanita Ranch in Julian, California. This was September 2, 1928. She was laid to rest at the Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery in San Diego.
