Helen L. Sauer, 88, 10815 County Hwy K Kellnersville, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011 at North Ridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center.
Helen was born Mar. 16, 1923, in the Town of Kossuth, daughter of the late Anton and Kristina (Hercik) Steeber. On Nov.12, 1947, Helen married Leonard J. Sauer at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. Helen and her husband Leonard farmed the family farm for many years until her retirement in1984. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the WFLA Lodge #20 for over 50 years.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Leonard J. Sauer, Kellnersville; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary (Jean) Sauer, Kellnersville; one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph (Doris) Steeber, Mishicot; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, John Sauer; one sister and brother-in-law, Rose (Vic) Polifka; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony (Anne) Steeber, Leo (Esther) Steeber; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed (Veronica) Saur.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church 522 Tower Ave. Kellnersville, Rev. Ronald Colombo will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Kellnersville, is assisting the Sauer family with funeral arrangements.
