Karoline Wandersee was born the daughter of Micheal and Fredericka Tomshein (Tomschin) in Pomerania (Zegenow) Germany, January 22, 1840. She married Martin Wandersee at the age of 24 and was the mother to ten children, two of whom preceded her in death; Albert and Ludwig. Her husband Martin died in 1904. Karoline came to this country at the age of 65. She lived one year at Sleepy Eye; then for the past 27 years; she made her home with her daughter Mrs. Fred (Augusta) Rabe, west of Clarkfield.
Her surviving children are Gustav; Wilhelm "William"; Herman; and Franz Wandersee; Wilhelmine Kreft; Augusta Rabe; Hannah Lange; and Charles "Carl" Tomschin.
