Worth, Helen E. 6/25/1923 - 4/28/2020 Jackson Helen Elizabeth Worth of Jackson, Michigan, went home to her Lord on April 28, 2020 at the age of 96. Helen, born on June 25, 1923, was one of 15 children, and a lifelong resident of Jackson County. Helen attended Jackson Public Schools and was a beautician in her home beauty salon for 25 years. She was married to Stanley A. Worth of Jackson for 48 years and cared for a family of four children on their 80-acre family farm. Her four children blessed her with 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She treasured her role as wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. During World War II, Helen was proud to have served the country as a "Rosie the Riveter" doing riveting on the wings of XB-42 Bombers in the Reynolds Spring Plant in Jackson, MI. Helen was an avid bowler, a board member of the Jackson Women's Bowling Association for which she also inspected lanes at bowling alleys in Jackson County, and was honored to be inducted into the Jackson Bowling Hall of Fame in 1986. Helen was a member of Jackson Women of the Moose #389, where she called bingo, and a lifetime member of Order of the Eastern Star, Fern Leaf Chapter #66. Helen participated in various golf and horseshoe leagues, enjoyed family cookouts, euchre and other card games, quilting, and crocheting blankets. Helen is survived by 2 daughters, Phyllis Moore of Concord, MI and Karen Perry of Kalamazoo, MI; 11 grandchildren, Jonathon (Bridget) Moore, Gregory (Sue) Moore, Jason (Jill) Moore, Teresa (Joe) Lombardo, Christina Moore, Benjamin Moore, Crystal (Mark) Williams, Monica Cummings, Joanna Cummings, Mike Bradley, and Allen Bradley. Helen is preceded in death by her parents' John and Lucy Sanford, husband Stanley, 14 siblings, and 2 sons, Roland Bradley and Leonard Worth. Helen will be laid to rest in a private service on Saturday May 2, 2020 at Roseland Memorial Gardens, officiated by Pastor Pat Pebley, and a memorial service will be held in her honor on a later date.
