"William H. Bernier,Sr., of Franklin Street died on Sunday afternoon, April 4, at Exeter Hospital, following a long illness.
Mr. Bernier was a lifelong resident of Exeter, born on Jan. 6, 1907, the son of Pierre and Georgianna R.(Collin)Bernier. For several years he had been employed in landscaping work.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Olive M.(Fogg)Bernier; two daughters, Mrs. Barbara A. and Miss Rose Mary Bernier; three sons, William H. Jr., with the Air Force at Selina Kans.; Richard P. and Thomas W. both of Exeter, and two brothers, Leon A. of Exeter and Joseph B. of Buffalo, N.Y.
Funeral services were held from the home of his sister, Mrs. Kreger, on Carrol Street, on Wednesday morning, followed by a High Mass of Requiem at St. Michael's Church. Rev. Daniel J. Cotter was celebrant.
Bearers were Francis Popielarz, Ernest Wall, Arthur Baillargeon, John Bernier, Charles Nichols and Ira Young.
