Ann M. Goeke, 74, of 1715 South 35th Street, Manitowoc, went home to her Lord on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, after a long battle with pneumonia.
She was born February 4, 1937 in Brillion, WI, the daughter of the late Alois and Adeline Lippert Beretta. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, class of 1955. She was employed after high school by the Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter. On November 19, 1960 she was united in marriage to Leslie A. Goeke at St. John’s UCC in Manitowoc. The couple resided on the Goeke Homestead Farm in the Town of Centerville until retirement in 1992, when the couple moved to Manitowoc. Ann was a member of Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church in Newton. Ann had served on the church Ladies Aid and was also a member of the church Adult Bible Study. Ann Loved to travel and to read.
She is survived by her husband Leslie of Manitowoc; one brother, Tom (Christina) Beretta of Westford, Mass.; one brother in law, Arnold (Doris) Goeke of Manitowoc; on sister in law, Eleanor (Wilbur) Westphalen of Plymouth; seven nieces; and nine nephews; and many special friends. Ann is preceded in death by one brother, Gerald, and three sisters in law and two brothers in law.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church in Newton, Rev. Kyle Sorensen will officiate and burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in the Town of Centerville. Friends may call at the Church on Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
A memorial fund for Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church has been established in Ann Goeke’s name.
