MARDELL E. DVORAK
(1940 - 2016)

Mardell E. (Reif) Dvorak, age 75, a Mishicot resident was peacefully called home in the early morning of Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Northridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc. Mardell was a strong fighter having battled for 10 years with a brain tumor.

Mardell was born August 23, 1940 in the town of Gibson on the family farm, a twin daughter to the late Elmer and Marie (Denor) Reif. She graduated in 1958 from Mishicot High School. On May 28, 1960 she married the love of her life Harvey "Boots" Dvorak at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. Mardell was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. Along with raising six children, she worked many jobs over the years. From working as a waitress at the Badger Bowl (where she met Boots) to the Cozy Corner, and then at Home Plate Diner. She also worked at Mirro and at Fox Hills. Later in life she cleaned at Holy Cross School and for many home residents. Her love for children showed as she babysat for her grandchildren and for other local families. Mardell was an awesome cook, no one ever went hungry at a party, holiday or occasion. She loved family get- togethers. Her presence was always known with her laughter, and smile.

She is survived by her husband: Harvey "Boots" Dvorak, of 56 years, her children: Brenda Yauger, Barbara Kopetsky (Steve), Ken (Geri) Dvorak, Sandy (Mike) Honzik, Dawn (Terry) Welnicke, Doug (Brenda) Dvorak, her grandchildren: Toni Yauger, Kurt Kopetsky, Karly (Jeff) Brown, Katrina Kopetsky, Shayla Dvorak, Kyla (Benn) Zubke, Jordan Dvorak, Alex Honzik, Allison Honzik (special friend Daniel Butler), Drew Honzik, Trever Welnicke, Sarah Welnicke, Ella Dvorak, Matthew Dvorak, twin great-granddaughters, Madison and McKenna Brown.
