His Grandfather came to Canada in 1903, and his father Jimmy in 1920. Due to the Chinese exclusion act of 1923-1947, Stanley and his mother Helen did not immigrate to Canada until 1950.
Stanley started school at Strathcona Elementary. After one year of hard studies, he had caught up to his grade level and attended King George High School. There, he met the love of his life Jean. They were happily married for 45 years until Jean's death in 2002. He received his bachelor of pharmacy from UBC in 1960 while raising a family and working late evenings in the family restaurant. He focused on becoming a successful businessman while raising his family.
In 2008 Stanley married Therese Yu, an angel and companion who took wonderful care of him until his last moments .
Stanley enjoyed fishing, traveling, sunshine, ballroom dancing, classical music, economics, dining with friends and family. He always stressed the importance of family values.
Stanley would be described as, a man of integrity and vision who was principled, dedicated, loyal, industrious and strong willed. He personality was outgoing, colorful, charismatic and he spoke his mind with a sense of humor .
Stanley is predeceased by his parents Jimmy and Helen, wife Jean, brother Danny. Survived by his children Cynda (Tom), Bonnie (Gordon), Todd (Kim), grandchildren Justin, Jordan, Chantelle (Mauro), Nathan, Nolan, Taryn, Trent, great granddaughter Amelia, wife Therese and her son Kevin.
Funeral services will be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral home, 306 East 11 Ave. Vancouver on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 10:00 am.
