John Brent Hunt died May 2020, 59 years from his birth. He was raised working Montana’s gold mines near Sheridan, and spent most of his formative years in Washington, Utah. He and his wife, Lori Ann Hunt, spent their early years together in Southern California and later across the Salt Lake Valley, ultimately settling in St. George, Utah, near which Brent passed.

From adolescence he invested his passion in a range of professions, building successful drywall and construction companies, and ultimately founding and developing pioneering microbiological research company Soft Cell Biological. Brent devoted time off to enjoying his family at home and Lake Powell, spinner fishing small streams, and storytelling or writing in every interstice.

Brent is survived by his wife, Lori; siblings Joel Hunt and Ilene Esplin; children, BreAnna Bolingbroke, and Heidi and Skyler Hunt; grandchildren Rikky Haws, and Ralphy and Porter Bolingbroke; son-in-law Josh Bolingbroke; and daughter-in-law Kelsey Jetter. Brent’s love, care, and influence extended immeasurably beyond his immediate family. We encourage all who enjoyed his life alongside him to share their thoughts, stories, and memories.

Visitations will be held the evening of Wednesday, May 13, from 6-8 PM, and the morning of Thursday, May 14, from 10-11 AM at Hughes Mortuary, 1037 E 700 S in St. George. Brent is to be buried near his father, Milton, in Enterprise City Cemetery following a private service.
