Obituary: The Eagle Democrat - June 15, 1990 - p.6 - Mrs. Lizzie Carter - "Mrs. Lizzie Carter, age 97, of 909 South Main St., Warren, died Wednesday, June 6 at the Bradley County Memorial Hospital. She was born April 22, 1893 at Rosston, Arkansas, a daughter of the late John Blair and Laura Cross Blair. She was a homemaker, a member of the Emmaus Missionary Baptist Church and the widow of Rev. Charles G. Carter who died May 3, 1968. Surviving are two sons, Herbert Carter and Paul Norman Carter, both of Warren; 1 daughter, Gail Smith, Wilmar; 2 half sisters, Bertha Smidt and Johnnie Mae Lewis, both of Houston, Tex.; 6 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 9 at Emmaus Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Harold Cooper and Rev. Mike Taylor. Sara Reep was the organist. Burial was in the Moseley Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Eddie Carr, Curtis Carr, Gene Sparks, Freddie Gullett, Ken Simmons and Kenny Williams. Hororary pallbearer was Ivy Harrelson."
