Adeline Ballard, 95

Southbridge - Adeline (Fournier) Ballard, 95, of Deer Run, passed away on Monday, Sept. 18th, in the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center, Charlton, after an illness.

Her husband of 60 years, Alfred E. Ballard died in 2016. She leaves two brothers, Rene Fournier of Southbridge and Robert Fournier of Agawam; two sisters, Anita Jodoin of Southbridge and Alice Ravanelle of Southbridge; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by eight brothers, Armand Fournier, Roland Fournier, Alfred Fournier, Edward Fournier, Raymond Fournier, Theodore Fournier, Henry Fournier, and Emile Fournier; and a sister, Leontine "Mary" Blanchette.

She was born in Southbridge, the daughter of John B. and Aldea Y. (Castonguay) Fournier.

Adeline worked as a clerk for 11 years for the Commonwealth of Mass., Welfare Department before retiring. She previously worked for the American Optical Co. in Southbridge for 23 years in the Lens Plant. She was an active member of Notre Dame Parish, now St. John Paul II Parish, serving as Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and a member of the parish St. Vincent de Paul Society. Adeline was a dedicated volunteer for many years at Harrington Hospital.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, Sept. 22nd, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 11:00am in Notre Dame Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 446 Main St., Southbridge. Burial will be in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge. A calling hour in the funeral home will be held on Friday, Sept. 22nd, from 9:30am to 10:30am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. John Paul II Parish, 279 Hamilton St., Southbridge, MA 01550.
