John Brennan, USN, was an Ordinary Seaman on board the Ship of the Line USS Ohio of the U.S. Navy's Pacific Squadron, Captain Cornelius K. Stribling. Brennan "departed this life" from yellow fever at 2:30 AM on March 22, 1850. After reading the Navy burial service, with all hands assembled, at 10:45 AM the same day, his remains were "committed to the deep" about 830 miles northeast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Latitude/Longitude 19°13'S 31°02'W).
