Deceased: MADELINE B. TWIFORD; Date: September 24, 2003
Madeline Bridgers Twiford, 86, died Sept. 22, 2003 at her daughter's residence with her family at her side. Mrs. Twiford was born in Princess Anne County to the late Charles and Hettie Harris Bridgers. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and the widow of Luther Edward Twiford.
Survivors include four daughters, Marjorie Twiford Davis of Chesapeake, La Creause Twiford Harris and Joan T. Murphy, both of Virginia Beach, Mary E. Abbott of Newport News; two sons, Dwight A. Twiford and William E. Gilbert, both of Virginia Beach; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Moseley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Twiford's Colonial Chapel, Chesapeake, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to all those who have been there for Mrs. Twiford, and especially to her grandson, Kevin Harris for his loving care. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.twifordfh.com. "
