Beatrice of Bevington Road, Thornton Heath, Surrey, was the daughter of Edwin William Sr. and Elizabeth Bentley (nee Cullington). Beatrice was baptized, at 10 months old, into the Church of England on April 24, 1898 at Emmanuel Church in West Dulwich, London. Her baptism occurred on the same day as 3 of her siblings: Arthur Edgar, Ivy Emily and William Coulson. Her father worked as a Baker, while her mother raised the children. When she was only 3 years old, her father, Edwin William, passed away. Her family’s census records and letters written in the past, tell us that they resided at 191 Rommany Road, West Ham, Essex, England from at least 1881- 1900, when her father passed. Census records then report that shortly after her father death, by March 1901, the family moved to Beulah Road North in Croydon. Sadly Beatrice passed away, at the age of 5 ½ years, at the West London Hospital and was laid to rest at West Norwood Cemetery in a private family grave on the 12th September 1902.

Also in the same private plot is her father Edwin, her mother Elizabeth and her brother Arthur Edgar who was a service casualty of WW1.
