Edie was our blue n white female parakeet. I guestimate her birthday was in early April of '13. She was the mate of Ed (the green n yellow male) who died 4 years before her. Edie survived living w six cats for six years until one fateful morning when the cage door was unlocked. As is the way of nature, cats will be cats and one can't stay angry or keep blaming. I will always remember the way she preened in my hair. It was a wonderful sensation. A couple months before she died, she laid her first egg. When I discovered it, it was empty (she'd been by herself since Ed died in Oct of 2016). I deeply regret sleeping in that morning and not having thoroughly checked the cage the night before.
I did their watercolor portraits in Spring of 2015.
