August 21, 1879 - November 1, 1940
William H. Ducker, 61, died unexpectedly about 2pm yesterday at the house of a son, George Ducker on College Street. He had come to Asheville Thursday from his home in Henderson County near Avery's Creek.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm tomorrow at Oak Hill Methodist Church with the Rev. J. L. officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Dunn-Groce.
Survivors include two sons, George and Frank Ducker of Asheville; four daughters, Mrs. Roy Fletcher and Mrs. Hufford Owenby of Asheville, Miss Hilda Ducker of Hendersonville, and Mrs. Paul Clark of Newark; two brothers, Pink and Huelet Ducker of Asheville; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Moore of Rust, TX; and several grandchildren.
The Asheville Citizen-Times has William Ducker listed as 58, however, he appears in the 1880 census, making him 61.
