Martin J. Jacquette, Jr., 62, of R. 3, Sheboygan, died at St. Nicholas Hospital Monday evening after a prolonged illness.

He was born in Sheboygan on Aug. 14, 1911 the son of the late Martin Sr. and Mary Jacquette, and attended St. Peter Claver Catholic School.

On Sept. 30, 1933 he married Ann Abstetar at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. He was a parish member.

Mr. Jacquette owned and operated Marty’s Tavern at S. 8th and Indiana for approximately 20 years prior to his retirement in 1969.

Survivors are his widow; a son, Martin III of Sheboygan; two daughters, Marianne and Maribeth, both at home; a sister, Mrs. Donald Grams of Sheboygan, and a grand-daughter.

Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Claver Church, preceded by brief rites at 10:30 at the Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home. The Rev. Edward Abstetar CSC of Wichita Falls, Tex., a brother-in-law, will be celebrant of Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. Thursday. A parish Bible wake will be held there at 7:30.
