Mrs. Katherine Desch, 80, of 401 West Reynolds street, died at 12:10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's hospital.
Mrs. Desch, widow of Joseph Desch, who died two years ago, came to Springfield 54 years ago.
She was born in Germany.
She was an active member of SS. Peter and Paul church, and of the Altar society.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Otto Reichert, Mrs. O.R. Buchanan, Mrs. Frank Layendecker and Mrs. Raymond May; and three sons, Frank, Carl and Chris.
Remains were removed from the O'Donnell funeral home to the residence where funeral was held and at SS. Peter and Paul church.
Burial in Calvary.

Miss Catherine Weis [sic] and Joseph Desch were married Wednesday, Feb. 9, 1882 in Belryen, Germany and came to Springfield in 1884.
Ten children were born to them, seven of whom are living. They are: Frank, of Portland, Ore.; Carl and Chris Desch, Mrs. Otto Reichert, Mrs. O.R. Buchanan, Mrs. Frank Layendecker and Mrs. Raymond May, all of Springfield. There are seventeen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
