Formerly of 1918 N. Superior Street, Appleton, age 99, died at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 1993. He was born April 1, 1894 in Pulcifer, Wisconsin and had been an Appleton resident since 1928. Rudy had been a carpenter all of his life beginning at the age of 14. Mr. Krause served with the U.S. Army during World War I and was a member of Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Marian and Herbert Hooyman, Freedom; a son and daughter-in-law: Ralph and Shirley Krause, Appleton; a brother and sister-in-law: Alfred and Meta Krause, Waubeno; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella (Koske) Krause on April 6, 1971; a son, Hans; two great-grandchildren; his parents; two sisters: Gustie Zill, Olga Steinke; five brothers: Julius, Arthur, Herbert, Elmer and Robert Krause. Complete funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, May 29, 1993 at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior St. with Rev. Richard K. Pankow officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
