Funeral services for Mrs. Lula W. Gilbert, 87, of Morton, were held Friday , June 6, at 2:00 p.m. in Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with Rev. W. E. Bass and Rev. Paul Harris officiating. Interment followed in the Sims Cemetery with Ott & Lee Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Gilbert passed away in the family residence on Thursday following a lengthy illness. She was a native of Rankin County but had made her home in Morton for the past five years. She was a member of the Line Creek Baptist Church.
The survivors are her husband, R. T. Gilbert; two sons, R. T. Gilbert, Jr., of New Orleans, La., and William J. Gilbert of Beaumont, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Andrew Schaeffer of Lancaster, Penn., and Mrs. Trudie G. Sims of Morton; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
The pallbearers were Henry Johnson, John C. Williams, Lavell Ross, Ben Shearer, J. R. Steverson, and Ben Noel. The honorary pallbearers were the Deacons of the Line Creek Baptist Church.
