Phebe's mother died when she was a young child. Her father remarried and moved the family to Providence, Saratoga Co., NY where she was raised.
Her father Jabez was an overseer in the Quaker Meeting House of Providence.
Phebe lived on a farm next door to the Deuel family where she met and married the young boy next door, John Deuel.
They then moved to Wayne Co., NY, where Phebe lived out the rest of her days with John in the town of Marion.
