—John Stablein, brother of Lawrence and Michael Stablein, of this place died at Argentine, Kan., on last Tuesday night, his death being caused by the accidental discharge of a revolver, which he was carrying in his pocket. Mr. Stablein was a member of the police force of Argentine, and was carrying a revolver in his pvercpat pocket. While passing through the yard gate at his home, his coat caught in such a manner as to jerk the revolver against the fence with such force as to cause its discharge. The ball which was a large caliber, entered the thigh and passed down almost the entire length of the leg. The physicians in attendance failed at first to locate the ball, and the wound was not considered at all serious, until a short time before his death, when the ball was located and the extent of the injury discovered. A dispatch was sent to his brother here on Tuesday, but from some cause failed to reach them, and the first information they had of the matter was on Wednesday morning when a dispatch was received announcing his death. They started at once and attended his burial there on Thursday.
