Nathaniel Robert "Bob" Stratford

Nathaniel Robert Stratford, 91 years, passed away on July 11, 2020 at his home with family by his side.

Bob was born February 25, 1929 in Byers, KS to Jesse Fury and Opal May (Wyebrew) Stratford.

Nathaniel was a U. S. Air Force Veteran and served in the Korean War.

On July 16, 1949 Bob and June Martin were united in marriage at Byers, KS and were blessed with three children.

Bob was a retired Computer Technician with G.E./Honeywell. He was a relief Computer Technician for NORAD and NOAA. He was a Guidance Technician for the first practice Apollo Mission. Bob and June bought the Jackson Mill property and built their home themselves. They loved their mountain and spring. They said, "that their home place was as beautiful as anywhere on earth!" He enjoyed his hobby of keeping bees and shared his knowledge with neighbors.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife June, two brothers, Jesse "Junior" and Paul.

He is survived by his children, Robert Stratford & Aletta, Sonya & Mark Terpening, and Sandy May, one granddaughter, Amanda Stratford and her husband, Aaron Kestner, one great granddaughter, Carter June Kestner and one great grandson on-the-way, one sister, Alice Smith, and a special friend, Doris.

Graveside services for Bob will be Friday, July 17, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Stratford Family Cemetery, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Pastor Neal Crum. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus 1602 N. Main St., Mtn. Grove, MO 65711.
