Dean Sterling Craghead, 77, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at the Huntsman Cancer Center after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born on July 7, 1927 in Brigham City, Utah, a son of William Henry and Urania Gertrude Petersen. He served in the US Army during World War II and received and honorable discharge. Dean married Shirley Jean Jensen on January 3, 1949 in Brigham City, Utah. Dean retired in 1991 as a union pipe fitter with Moss Industrial in Woods Cross. He loved fishing, hunting, was an avid rock hounder, made rock jewelry, loved gardening and enjoyed woodworking. Dean would go every day faithfully for 10 years to D.I. and was known as the wood man. Surviving is his wife, Shirley, Brigham City; four daughters, Jackie Dean (Ron) Craghead- Cevering, Ogden; Lois Jean (Dave) Reese; Ogden; Sharon Joan Skenandore, Brigham City; Deana Irene (Donald) Ross, Brigham City; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; three brothers, Robert, Brigham City; Dennis, Logan; LeRoy, Ogden; three sisters, Marie Larsen, Corinne; Maxine Fonnesbeck, Logan; Rita Mae Jeppesen, Brigham City. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Barbara Ann Craghead, one grandson, Kerry Lynn Warren, one sister and two brothers. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 12 Noon to 12:45 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Following the services on Thursday it was Dean's wish to be cremated.
