He was born October 14, 1918 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Claude Isiah Guist and
Charlottie Bell Spillers Guist.
He married the former Gletha Doloris Broner in Fayetteville in 1944. He was
employed by Fulbright Wood Products as a shipping clerk for 26 years. He served in
the US Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Euell L Master and Chester
Guist; sisters, Gertie Guess, Pearly Stout and Rachel Stout.
Survivors include: his wife of 63 years, Gletha Doloris Guist of the home; 2 sons,
Lawrence Guist of Greenland, AR, Jim Guist of Prairie Grove; 2 daughters, Linda
Whitener of Jamesville, Wisconsin, Barbara Doss of Prairie Grove, AR; 8 grandchildren
and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2PM, Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Beards Chapel with
Pastor Arnold J. Baughman officiating. Burial will follow in Tharp Cemetery under the
direction of Beards Chapel.
The family will receive friends at Beards Chapel from 4 to 6PM on Wednesday.
