Son of Conrad & Marie (Delamater).

A descendent of French Huguenots who through religious persecution and exile in the German Palatinate, sailed from a Dutch port for the New World in 1661.

Revoluntionary Service: served as a bugler in 1782, the shell which he used as his bugle last known with descendant grand daughter: Julia DuBois - Michigan; Private under Col Wessenfel's Regiment Ulster County NY

Martin purchased 81.56 acres of land from the US Government in 1832 in the Territory of Michigan (now known as Saline Twp., Washtenaw County, Michigan, USA). Martin and wife Margaret lived out their lives in Saline Twp.

Martin and his wife, Margaret died on the same day, 14 August 1850 while visiting family in Ingham County, Michigan; they are buried in a shared grave at Fitchburg Cemetery.
