Ed Embry, 64, of 713 North Main, Leitchfield, passed away Thursday, April 4, 1985 at his home. / A retired well driller, Embry served one term as State Representative after his election in 1956, and served as city clerk of the City of Leitchfield from 1964 through 1974. / Embry was a World War II Army veteran, who was stationed in England and saw active duty in Tunisia, Africa and Anzio, Italy. / He was the son of Wilford and Hannah Woosley Embry, both who predeceased him, and was married to the former Ruth Lee, who survives. / Survivors other than his wife of Leitchfield are four sons, Kenneth Edward Embry, M.D., of Louisville; Rick, Mark and Dwight Embry, all of Leitchfield; one daughter, Linda Dinell of Ft. Thomas, Ky.; three brothers, Ralph and Eck Embry, both of Leitchfield and Dale Embry of Louisville; one sister, Maggie Miller of Louisville, and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Margie King, and two brothers, Sheridan and Rodney Embry. / Funeral services were held April 7, 1985 at Watkins Chapel with interment in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Bro. E.G. Nash officiated.
