Revolutionary War Patriot Johannes Ebling or Ebeling was the son of Ludwig Or Stadian and Maria Barbara (________) Ebling of Undenheim, Rheinhessen, Hessen-Darmstadt Germany.

Sometime prior to 1748, he married Maria Philpena Yeager or Yager, and they raised a large family of about 16 children.

Johannes Ebeling served in the American Revolution.

About the burials:
Their stones are located between the church and the parking lot at Good Shepherd. According to a description of the cemetery, Hinnershitz and Good Shepherd are the same graveyard (although slightly different information was received from the church which does not manage the burials).

A descendant named "Fred" reports that Johannes and his wife were originally interred in the family graveyard located on Johannes Eblings land in what was then Alsace Twp and now Muhlenberg Twp., in an area known as South Temple. William Sharp the developer of South Temple petitioned the courts to have the burials moved. Permission was granted on January 30, 1925 and the remains and markers were moved to Hinnershitz.

before 1751. For Johannes Ebling did not come to America until 17 October 1749, on the ship "Dragon", his name is given as "Johannes Eberle" (number 58 on the ship manifest. See "The American Genealogist", Oct 2001 edition, under the article called "THE GERMAN ORIGIN OF JOHANNES1 EBLING OF BERKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA", by Patricia Law Hatcher.

Johannes Ebling's mother, Maria Barbara (1697-1785) was originally buried at the Ebling-Bernhardt private cemetery (Berks Co., PA). In 1925, all the remains and markers were moved to Hinnershitz (Good Shepherd Cemetery). According to Patricia Law Hatcher (a well respected genealogist), and author of "THE GERMAN ORIGINS OF JOHANNES EBLING OF BERKS COUNTY PENNSYLVANIA" (The American Genealogist, Oct. 2001). She states in this article that Maria Barbara's headstone was apparently destroyed prior to or during the move to Hinnershitz (Good Shepherd Cemetery).
