A sudden and sad death occurred in our city Tuesday when William Newman Allen, of Greenwood, dropped dead in the home of his father, W. O. Allen. Death was caused from heart failure.
Mr. Allen came over Tuesday from Greenwood to visit his parents, .and had been in the house but a short while, when he suddenly dropped dead.
Funeral services were conducted from the residence Wednesday afternoon, at 4 o'clock, by Dr. J. C. McMullen, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. Interment took place in Oakwood cemetery, where the local Lodge of Elks took charge of the services.
The Times joins with the citizens of Winona in extending its deepest sympathy to the bereaved family and relatives of the deceased. May God in his wisdom and love look with love upon you and sustain you in this dark hour when you are called to pass through the "Valley of the Shadow of Death".
