He was the son of the late John and Catherine (Lequire) Ackerson and was born on the farm where he died.
on December 23, 1880, he was married to Miss Melissa Hayes of near Matawan, who survives with three children, Mrs. Ethel Cowels, Miss Maud Ackerson and John T. Ackerson, all of whom reside at the homestead in
Hazlet.
He also leaves a sister, Catherine Ackerson and two brothers, Abraham of Hazlet, and L.Cass Ackerson of Keyport.
The funeral was from his late residence at 2:30, Thursday afternoon, Reverend F.T.B. Reynolds, pastor of Keyport Reformed Church, officiating.
Interment was in Holmdel Cemetery.
