Bertha F Lecount was born near Ligonier, Noble county, Ind., June 20, 1870 and died at Payette, Ida., May 15, 1907, at 8 o'clock p.m., aged 36 years, 10 months and 25 days; degeneration of the spinal cord having terminated in death from cordiac paralysis. The deceased moved to Norton county, Kansas, June 1887, and was married to James A Watts, October 4, 1891. To this union were born eight children, five boys and three girls, all of whom survive her.
About January, 1905, she became converted and became united with the M.E. church and was a faithful Christian and a firm believer in Christ's teaching until the end. She was a dutiful and affectionate companion and a kind and loving mother. Her husband, Mr Watts, moved to Payette in November, 1905, expecting that a change in climate would be beneficial to her health, and for the first 12 months she did seemingly improve. After that time she was confined to her bed most of the time until she finally had to succumb. Beside her husband and children she leaves a mother, two sisters and four brothers to mourn her departure. from Payette Independent
