Helen Louise (Mariott) Gantt May 14, 1939 - August 13, 2020
Helen Louise Gantt, who resided in Charleston, died Thursday, August 13, 2020, at Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born May 14, 1939, in New Lima, Oklahoma, to the late C. T. Mariott and Christine (Ogden) Mariott. Helen was 81 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Gantt and two brothers, Charles and Bill Mariott.

Helen was a homemaker in all aspects. She loved Norman Rockwell designs especially the plates and figurines. She enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables and she loved her family. But her pride and joy were those grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always making sure others were cared for, most recently, calling the flower shop from the hospital to send Janet flowers for her birthday. She will be missed by those who knew her.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2020, at Garden of Memories in Charleston, with Rev. Daniel Thueson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Mannon and husband Neal of Charleston; two sons, Larry Gantt of Pittsburg, Kansas and Michael Gantt of Rogers, Arkansas; three sisters, Nancy Riddle of Lavaca, Martha Ulrich of Paris and Debbie Phelps of Charleston; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Josh Gantt, Jacob Gantt, Jason Ulrich, Jacob Midyett, Joe Riddle and Isaac Mannon.

Family visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Due to the COVID-19 directive, the Arkansas Department of Health has limited the number of persons allowed in a church and or chapel facility. We ask for your patience and appreciate your cooperation at this time.
