Newspaper Carrier Insinger Retires From Active Business.
Albert Insinger, one of Germantown's most respected citizens, who for the past twenty-two years has conducted a large newspaper route in this section of the city, retired from active business on Wednesday last, and purposes to spend the rest of his days on "Easy street."
Mr. Insinger is the oldest living past president of the Philadelphia Morning Paper Carriers' Protective and Beneficial Association, and was born in
Switzerland, April 7, 1843. He came to Philadelphia in November, 1848, enlisted in Company E, Ninety-fifth Regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry, on August 23, 1861, and was honorably discharged November 2, 1864. He served on military railroads from December 1, 1864, until August 11, 1865. He then went to western Pennsylvania, in the oil country, until May 4, 1885, when he came to Germantown and became a newspaper carrier.
Mr. Insinger was third president of the Morning Paper Carriers' Association, and has only missed a few meetings since the association was organized.
