He was recommended for membership in Post 6 by Samuel Barnes and elected 20 May 1880 at age 45, born in Chestnut Hill, residence Mt. Airy, Ave., Mt. Airy, occupation weaver, enlisted 19 August 1862, discharged 23 June 1865 at Elmira, NY.
Obituary, 1916:
Thomas Maguire, aged 82 years, 413 Mt. Airy Ave., November 10. He was a member of Ellis Post, Grand Army of the Republic, having served for three years in the Civil War as a member of the 150th Pennsylvania Regiment, one of the "Bucktails" regiments. Interment was in Ivy Hill Cemetery.
