Obituary - BLAU

Mrs. Barbara Blau died at the home of her son John, Monday morning, December 27th, 1920. She was born in Gleisenberg, Germany, in the year 1833. In the year 1861 [June 12, 1862] she came to America and made her home in Buffalo, New York, where she was united in marriage to Michael Blau and they made their home in that city for one year. They then came to Plain, where the rest of her life was spent.

Mrs. Blau was a good, Christian mother and friend, loved by all. God blessed this union with nine children. Two of them, Alois and Anna died in infancy and two boys, Frank at the age of 18 years, and Michael, aged 36. The surviving children are Joseph, Mrs. Simon Brickl, Mrs. George Brey and John of Plain and Mrs. Henry Frank of Humboldt, Sask., Canada. All were present at the funeral excepting the latter, who was unable to come.
Funeral services took place at St. Luke's Church, Rev. Charles Surges officiating, and interment was made in the new cemetery.
