Gert Roylance, 91, passed away peacefully in her home at Maranatha Village on Monday, October 29th. Integrity Hospice and many family members were by her side as she left this earth to meet her lord and savior, which was her greatest wish.
Gert was born on June 26, 1927 in Ulft, Holland, The Netherlands and immigrated with her family through Ellis Island to Patterson, NJ. She married John Roylance, Jr in 1947 and the couple moved to Springfield, MO in 1958 where they raised their 5 children. Gert worked for many years with the Visiting Nurses Association.
She is survived by her loving family; daughter, Bonnie Roswurm and husband Dan, sons Tom and William Roylance; grandchildren, Angie Wise, Meredith Anderson and husband John, Crystal Maples and husband Jeff, Monica Allman, Brandi Davis and husband Billy, and Mandi Turner; great grandchildren, Taylor Martin and husband Matthew; Tyler Wise and fiancé Veronica Lamore; Colin and Caitlyn Allman; Ian Anderson; Colton Maples; Blake and Heidi Davis; DC Rost; Hope, Faith, Katy, and Grace Turner. Gert was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Elizabeth Ratering; husband, John Roylance Jr; brother Anthony Ratering; sisters, Mary Van DerSteere and Elizabeth "Bess" Lowe; and sons, John III and Henry Roylance.
