He was born January 2, 1927 in Girard, the son of Floyd E. and Osola Marie (Trout) Prideaux. He grew up and attended schools in Girard and graduated from Girard High School.
He served in the US Army in the Pacific Theater during W. W. II.
He married Bonnie C. McDermed on June 1, 1949 in the First Baptist Church in Girard. She survives of the home.
He worked at Breneman Auto Parts in Girard from 1941 until retiring in 2003.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Girard and a former Sunday School teacher. He served on many committees in the church, he was a hospice volunteer, and was the Girard Scout Master for many years.
He was a member of the George C. Brown Post No. 26, American Legion of Girard and A.A.R.P.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Bonnie C. Prideaux, of the home in Girard, include one daughter, Cinda Holmes and husband Roger of Girard; two sons, Richard R. Prideaux and wife Diane of Girard, Anthony E. Prideaux and wife Julia of Lawrence; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren
Funeral services for Floyd M. "Bud" Prideaux will be at 3:00 P. M., Tuesday. Doug Amend and Rev. Dale Samuels officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery with Military Honors given by the George C. Brown Post No. 26, American Legion of Girard..
