Services for Ruth Yates were held Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at 2 p.m. from John E. Stephens Chapel. The Rev. Gene Higginbotham and the Rev. Steve Craft officiated. Burial was in Longino Baptist Cemetery.

Mrs. Yates, 89, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, in Neshoba County General Hospital.

She was a homemaker and retired dietician. She was a member of Longino Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by

a daughter, June McKay;

a son, Rudolph Yates; and

her husband, Tann Yates.

Survivors include

five daughters, Polly Massey of Philadelphia, Pearleen Williams, Mickey Hartle and Nancy Hancock, all of Jackson, and Mattie Humphries of Louisville;

one son, Claud Yates of Philadelphia;

14 grandchildren;

14 great-grandchildren; and

three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ricky McKay, Mike McKay, Randy Ponder, James Williams, Mark Yates, Nathan Yates, Terry Humphries and Tommy Morris.
