Helen Farrar Coopman, 84, passed peacefully into eternal rest under the care of Hospice Savannah on Friday afternoon, March 19, 2004. She was born in Perryville, Missouri on August 19, 1919. Fifty years of her life were spent in Atlanta, Georgia. Mrs. Coopman was a loving child of God, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be remembered for her smile, laughter, and the joy she gave to everyone who knew her. Her husband of fifty-one years, Frederick William Coopman, predeceased her. All of her immediate family lives in Savannah, Georgia. Surviving are her only daughter, DaNell Coopman Moore, and her son-in-law, Jim Spies, and her granddaughters, Deborah Moore Bruce and Daphne Moore Wells, and their husbands, Charlie Bruce and Mike Wells. Tippy, her beloved grand dog, remained her constant companion during her final days. Her closest nephew, Ed Farrar, lives in Louisville, Kentucky. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Atlanta, Georgia.
