2ND BARONESS WENLOCK

OBITUARY: Oxford Journal 30 December 1899
Lady Wenlock, sister to the Countess of Macclesfield, died on Saturday last, aged 75 years.

OBITUARY: Truth 28 December 1899
The death of Elizabeth Lady Wenlock will be lamented by a wide circle of friends, and by nobody more than Mrs. Gladstone, whose relations with the Escrick family have always been very close and cordial. Lady Wenlock was a most charming person, and greatly beloved, not only by her own family, but by everybody who knew her. She was a sister of the Duke of Westminster and of the Dowager-Duchess of Northumberland, and she inherited much of her cleverness and force of character of her mother, who was a daughter of the Marquis of Stafford who married the Countess of Sutherland and finally became the first Duke of Sutherland.

FUNERAL: Clifton Society 28 December 1899
The funeral of the Dowager Lady Wenlock took place at Escrick on Wednesday in the presence of a large gathering of members of the family and relatives. Those who sent floral tributes included the Duchess of Westminster, the Duchess of Northumberland, Countess Grosvenor, and Viscountess Ebrington.
