January 1, 1918 - September 9, 2007. Our "Steel Magnolia" passed away in Austin, Texas surrounded by her loving family. She lived most of her life in El Paso, Texas. After her marriage to Randolph M. Young she traveled throughout the United States as a military wife. Her husband and youngest daughter, Sharon Aileen, had preceded her in death. She leaves behind, daughters, Hope Garcia, Juanita Ann Kelly, Jean Young and Judy Maguire; sons-in-law, James C. Kelly and Joseph Maguire; sisters, Carmen Gross and Rebecca Batt; brother Cecil Gutierrez; sister-in-law Margaret Gutierrez; her most beloved ,eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Marie. She was a beautiful person ,a great cook, and "far more precious than jewels" (Romans 31:10) to all who knew her. To say she will be missed is an understatement, as she left us all committed to being better people so that we may join her. Visitation will be Thursday, September 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Kaster-Maxon & Futrell Funeral Home Chapel where Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Friday, September 14th at 12 Noon at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church with Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
