A native of Alabama, she was born Feb. 22, 1891, and had been a Carson City resident for the past seven years, coming from San Jose, Calif. Mrs. Payne was a homemaker.
Surviving are daughters, Tekla Cords of Carson City, and Johnnie Highland of San Jose; brother, G.W. Stoner Jr. of Madison, Tenn.; sisters, Catherine Miller of Birmingham, Ala., Georgie Austin and Lucille Chapman, both of Ider, Ala., Jessie Bryant and Jewell Jones, both of Henagar, Ala., and Charlene Dalton of Mobile, Ala.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday at 1401 Chaparral Drive, Carson City. Cremation was at the Masonic Memorial Gardens Crematorium, Reno, under the direction of FitzHenry's Funeral Home.

Daisy's final husband was John Henry Payne. John passed away on 28 May 1940.
